Celebrate the release of Chef Ruth Gresser’s cookbook with a party at the Brewmaster’s Castle. The event will feature an antipasto table, pizza from Pizzeria Paradiso paired with beers and cider from DC Brau, Oxbow, Millstone & Stillwater, pizza making demonstrations with chef Ruth, & book signings.

The menu:
Atomica: tomato, kalamata olives, salami, hot pepper flakes - DC Brau Public
Salsa Verde Pizza: green sauce, artichoke, radicchio, red onion, sausage, pecorino - Oxbow Farmhouse Pale Ale
Orchard Pizza: apples, brussel sprouts, portabella mushrooms, red onion, thyme, cheddar - Millstone Farmgate Cider
Roots & Greens: beets, turnips, leeks, kale, swiss chard, gruyere - Stillwater Debutante 

All the beer will be poured by the respective brewery’s brewmaster.

Ticket price includes a copy of the book, all you can eat and drink antipasto, pizza, beer and cider, and a ticket to a pizza demonstration class. Plus half the proceeds of the ticket will be donated to the Heurich House Museum.

Dear Ruth and Pizzeria Paradiso,

All of my adult life I’ve been a big fan of pizza, what’s not to like? Recently, I attended Ruth’s pizza and beer pairing/book signing at the Heurich Mansion. I was re-inspired.

I make lots of pizza at home, but the crust was never quite thin enough. It was crisp, but not chewy enough. When I saw Ruth’s method for stretching out the dough, I knew I had found my answer. I went home and tried it the next day. It was a revelation. My home pizza is better than most pizzas I eat in restaurants (with the exception of Pizzeria Paradiso, of course).

I’m making a lot more pizza these days. I’m upping my game. I really appreciate the recipe book, and the detailed instructions about the care and feeding of pizza dough, and how to treat it well.
