Pizzeria Paradiso is celebrating female politicians one state at a time.
There's are two stats stuck in Chef Ruth Gresser's head.
Women currently make up 50.8 percent of the U.S. population.
Yet, she calculates that only an average of 25 percent of the governors, lieutenant governors, and members of Congress in the U.S. are female.
"On the one hand you can be excited that the number of women in national leadership has increased and is now at 25 percent, and at the same time 25 percent is only half of what women represent in the population," says the proprietor of Pizzeria Paradiso, which launched 27 years ago and now has five locations in the D.C. area.
